Regarding the New ROCOR :: Some Questions

Post by Грешник »

With the news of many joining the ranks of Bishop Agathangel, I would lie to ask a question.

Would you join the Synod of Bishop Agathangel?

I have also heard that Bishop Daniel is against the Union and this is the cause of his house arrest. Do you believe that he would join the Synod of the ROCOR under the leadership of Bishop Agathangel?

Would this then resurrect the ROCOR as the historic mind of the Russian Orthodox/Catacomb Church?

Just questions, not attacks. Please answer with this in mind.

It is not intention to enter in any dispute or discussion. But IMHO what differs or what a different thing has Bishop Agafagel to offer, wich it has not other TOC Russian Synods as ROCiE, RTOC or "Lazarites", FROC/ROAC etc?

All of them, earlier or later left the "Lavrites" for the same reason, that is to say, the approach, recognition and union with the MP.

What would be interesting is that all these Synods try to unite in a one TOC Russian Jurisdiction, since all of them were a part or were in communion with ROCOR. This one Jurisdiction, in my humble opinion, could struggle with more forces against the wickedness of MP and its allies.

All these synods have more or less the same ecclesiological points of views and they are linked historically, for instance Bishop Agafangel was consecrated a bishop by FROC (ROAC) in Tsar Konstantin Cathedral, in Suzdal.

Please, we don't need one more TOC Russian Synods, we don't need more division, but an only one TOC Russian formed fron all the "parts" of the historical and old ROCOR and the Russian Catacomb Church.

same thing anyway...

This occurred to me recently:

ROCOR(L) was in communion with Jerusalem right? and I am assuming they still are (in fact they are in communion with everyone now, i.e, SCOBA-doxy), so if ROCOR-A ('new ROCOR') is stil in communion with Jerusalem, then they are all still the same thing (ROCOR's A and L)and nothing has happened but one group stomping their feet. If you are in Communion with one Church, you are also in Communion with anyone they are in Communion with. When you are in communion with someone you are stating that through the act of Communing, you believe each to be part of the same One Body of Christ. Basic Orthodoxy.

Dear Father Photios:

Sorry, but I don't believe that ROCOR-L and JP were in communion before the signature of the "Act", because you could find right here in some post of some months ago where the Patriarch Theophilos refused to concelebrate with the ROCOR Priests Pilgrims and even with Laurus and he said that JP would be not in communion with ROCOR until it will be fully in communion with its "Church Mother", the MP.

Consequently B. Agafangel is not in communion with JP, just because because he rejected the "Act".

Fr. Silouan,

Thank you for clearing it up. /\ I wasn't sure if there was still communion between any of ROCOR and JP, otherwise it seemed like there would be an odd connection still.
More than likely I missed that previous thread you mentioned. I must say too that if threads get really long, I just don't have the time to go through and read everything. There have been times when someone has posted very beautiful factual or homiletic info but it was very long and though I wanted to read it I couldn't.
Ramble, Ramble.

Have a joyous Feast!
