Russian Army Flag

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

Russian Army Flag

Post by drewmeister2 »

The hammer and sickle are being restored to the Russian Army flag. Any sergianists here still care to argue that communism in Russia has fallen? http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/20 ... 915193.htm

Has anyone found a corresponding article? I am not doubting this, but I googled it and only brought up many copies of this ABC article.

Although, thinking about this, it is interesting that politically it would come about just a couple of weeks after Yelstin's death.

Communist symbol returns to Russian Army's flag

Post by Melissa »

If you will permit me to repost what I sent yesterday to Synod-list, it includes a link to an earlier BBC article on this topic, plus a link to other sergianist/communist theological perversions (in Russian, but the illustration is beyond words).

Victory Day parades have always used "historically accurate" Soviet flags, but now it seems the victory celebration is...every day. Especially telling is the last sentence of the abc.net.au article: "the Soviet victory over fascism in World War II remaining something seen in almost religious terms."

Elsewhere, Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov stated, "Servicemen hold the star as something sacred," said Mr Ivanov at his meeting with Mr Putin and Russia's top brass. "Our fathers and grandfathers fought under the star and we carry stars on our epaulettes now." (BBC article)

Please also see the religious drawing located at http://www.zavtra.ru/ illustrating this, and the accompanying articles (in Russian).
