I recommend reading Faith, Form and Time by Kurt Wise:
Wise earned his PhD in paleontology under Stephen Jay Gould. He's able to logically and articulately defend his creationist position.
Peace.

CHRIST IS RISEN!
Thanks Tom. It will take me time to get the book.
I've been reviewing Kent Hovind's explanations that evolution is a lie and creation is the truth. He's a Baptist science teacher. He said that the waters above was in the atmosphere. This was destroyed when the ice age happened and he has a great explanation on how the flood happened and in consequece the ice aged happened. More to come on that. His scientific explanations are in complete consistency in explaining that the events in the Bible are not poetry but fact.
This video is about the age of the earth. Very interesting.
In Christ, Joanna

Although I can accept the idea of a God that initially created the world and its basic life forms, in other words got the ball rolling, I do not believe that Man was created in his current form. It's evolution, baby!

So on your next vacation, you can go visit your relatives in the zoo. Or talk to a rock...it might be one of your ancestors that didn't make it.
If you believe in evolution, then you can't possibly support life after death, right? Afterall, evolution can't create souls. How do evolutionists explain that? They don't...they don't have that concept. Do you have a soul, Tom?
Why should anybody care about each other...even our children, if they don't have souls? Your son will just be worm food...and he will be nothing after death...because in your belief, there is nothing after death, if you believe in evolution.
So, basically, you believe that we are a process and we and your son are nothing but future food for worms. The worms sure have it good.
INDEED HE HAS RISEN!
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Ps. 50)
Joasia,
What are you, the Cafe attack dog? Sheesh! Calm down! Take some deep breaths. Have a glass of wine. Relax, baby!

I have no idea what is after our physical death.
This is what drives me CRAZY about you -- because I say that I believe that man is evolving and has evolved, you jump to the conclusion that therefore I agree with ALL of the ideas of the "evolutionists" That is not so.
Why must everything be black or white to you??
Do I have a soul? I don't know. Do you have a soul? You don't KNOW either - you just believe what your releigion tells you. But you really do not KNOW. You just believe that you do.
And BTW --

Because these are opposing views and one or the other has to be accurate. Otherwise, there is an alternate view.
Why does "one or the other have to be accurate". Maybe neither is fully correct. Why can't it be a synthesis of more than one idea?
Why must everything be black or white to you??
And for the record, my GOA Priest says that Orthodoxy and Evolution can coexist.
