Why should Christ laugh when He had such an important function to fulfill?

To all those who have children who could become sick and in pain...as a parent, would you feel like laughing? No doubt a parent would hug and kiss and smile tenderly, but would you be able to laugh when your heart is in great pain for your child? As a parent, facing the death of your child and as Christ looking into the hearts of His spiritually sick children...who could possibly feel like laughing?

Question: Since it is not possible to find support that Christ laughed...then perhaps He didn't.

1) Because Christ was full of love. And one manifestation of love is happiness.

2) Children would not have been drawn to Him if he was always stern and unsmiling.

3) Adults would not have been drawn to Him if he was always stern and unsmiling.

4) He was a charasmatic person, otherwise His love and joy would not have been noticed.

5) Unhappiness is depression and evil. Satan HATES happiness.

6) Once again, Happiness is LOVE.

Tom,

We're not talking about loving smiles and joy, but laughter. Those who met Him and believed, loved Him and those who didn't believe, feared Him.

They noticed Him not because they saw charisma, but because His Holy Grace could not be ignored, when they met Him. He's God. He doesn't need a charismatic personality; that's a protestant term; and we know that protestants are void of any spirtual interpretations of the Holy Bible. HE'S GOD - HE IS ALL GRACE. He is our Creator. Even the saints were noticed because they were full of God's Grace, not because people saw charisma.

Christ taught in the Beatitudes: Woe unto you that laugh now. For ye shall mourn and weep. (Luke 6:25)

Do you think He would have laughed before or after He taught this? He would have been an hypocrite, like your American evangelists.

And He also taught, on the Mount: Rejoice, ye, in that day and leap for joy; for behold, your reward is great in Heaven. (Luke 6:23)

He supports joy and leaping, but for the blessings in Heaven, not for things in this world. If we really knew the hell we could face, we would be weeping everyday, for our salvation.

Satan loves laughter, especially against God, His saints and believers. There are plenty of examples of that in the Bible. And he hates happiness that involves the joy we keep in our hearts for our faith, but he revels in the happiness of the godless people for worldly concerns.

Tom,

I understand what Joanna is talking about. She is correct. Laughing at something wrong is wrong. Laughing at silly jokes is wrong. Laughing at someones misfortune is wrong etc.

Christ would of smiled at times when He picked up the little children, but laughing no way!

Really? Got anything to back that up?

No more than you all have in backing up your belief.
