I have received a report that the GOC has consecrated a new bishop for Australia, Spyridon. I am not sure if he is a bishop or a Metropolitan.
Bishop Spyridon was ordained a deacon by His Grace Bishop Germanos of the Cyclades in the 1940's and a priest around 1962 by His Beatitude Archbishop Akakios the Elder One. He was known to us in America for awhile. Unfortunately, he accepted consecration by one of the Ukrainian groups and faded away from our memory.
Fast forward to 2007; Bp Sypridon realized the situation and made his application to the Church via the Synod of Archbishop Chrysostomos II; he was received by laying on of hands and brings with him his one parish, and our existing parish in Australia which we received from the Lamians has been added to Bp Spyridon's flock. May God Grant Bp Spyridon blessings on his return to our Church and may he serve out his remaining years with distinction.
