Re: GOC & ROAC
helen wrote:Forgive my ignorance fathers, but I just wanted to confirm if the moderators of this forum Father Mark is from the Greek Orthodox Church and that deacon Father Nicholas is from the "official" Russian Orthodox Church. The reason I am asking this question is because I thought this forum was for "Traditional" and not "World" churches. Not that I mind - I'm just trying to get some clarity for myself. And if anyone else is up to it - What is your definition of "Traditional"? What do you have to do to be "Traditional"? Is it defined by a "traditional" confession of faith or a way of life or both?
Thanks for any responses
Yes, the responses have been correct. I am a deacon in the ROAC, the Russian Orthodox Autonomous Church which is a big chunk of the Catacomb Church that was given an episcopacy by the ROCOR over the years. We are nolonger in communion with the ROCOR over many issues including the coming union between them and the MP. Our moderator Father Siluan and I are both members of the ROAC.
Father Mark's GOC is also known as "Matthewites", and I do call the Matthewites bu this name to be clear and since many Matthewites call themselves as such. Ioannis, who is my co-administrator is a member of the GOC that is sometimes called the "Florinite" GOC.

Interesting that each jurisdiction has a few names attached to it. To which group do the Cyprianites belong to?
