An Appeal to all posters and lurkers at the Euphrosynos Cafe
Dear in Christ,
This is a message I hoped I would never had to write.
Renewal for hosting and domain registration has come up again and we are in a bit of a bind. I am in a lot of debt due to a number of circumstances over the last year, so I am hoping that maybe a few of you are willing and able to donate to help pay for the costs of the Cafe's hosting, bandwidth, the software we use, etc.
We have a donation button on our Donation page at http://EuphrosynosCafe.com/donate/ which will let you donate whatever you feel your experiences at the Saint Euphrosynos Cafe are worth to you personally.
This site is a labor of love for myself and for my co-administrator Ioannis, and our wonderful moderation team of Fathers Siluan & Mark, and our temp mod who helps us when we are in need, Anastasios. We hope it is helpful to you as much as it has proven to be to us.
We have tried placing an ad program to recoup some costs, but so far it has brought it a little over a dollar, we have made a little money from people making purchases at Amazon.com through out links and items from our store, and we appreciate that. Unfortunately it has not been enough to pay the bills.
This last year we have added more languages to our forum with the Spanish/Portugese forum picking up lately along with the new TOC Youth forum. We have added new Spanish resources ( http://euphrosynoscafe.com/resources/ ) and our very popular interactive TOC map ( http://euphrosynoscafe.com/map/ ) that lets you find the closest TOC when you travel, as well as directions from your door to the door of the temple of your choosing. This next year we expect to add many more resources and expand the number of languages they are offered in, an updated forum system and many more exciting features that will not cost us more money, but will only cost us our vacation time that we love using to help give back to the online Orthodox Chrisitian community.
If we end up receiving more money than we need for renewal fees for this site, the money will go back in to the site to give us a longer renewal which will save us more money in the end. For instance to renew everything for 1 month our bill would be $20, but we can pay all of our bills for 2 years for only $240. The more that is donated, the longer we can go, the more we can save.
If you are able to donate, please let us know if you want to be named or for us to keep it private. We are more than happy to do either. Thank you all in advance and please forgive this intrusion.
