Vladyka Vitaly and Vladyka Antony go back way Back to St.John of Shanghai and san francisco, including the missionary work in the Phillipines with St.John, something terrible has happened, that Vladyka Vitaly would be against Vladyka Antony, the only True friend Vladyka Vitaly has had for many years now...
But apparently it wasnt enough to stop the second mind in mansonville.
This had been up someones sleeves for quite sometime now, and Vladyka Antony knew it all along, and this isnt to gain power, money, property, etc. its simply for True Orthodox, and as Vladyka Antony has always said- " THe Church will remain small "...
God Grant Vladyka Vitaly and Vladyka Antony many years

Spiridon:

Is you planning to leave Lavrites for the "Anthonytes", now? :D

I thought that you sympathized with ROCOR-L (Well, a little before you sympathized with ROCiE)

Some new materials have been posted regarding what is happening in Mansonville.

Archbishop Antony Orloff has issued "final appeals" to Bishops
Bartholomew, Vladimir, Anthony (of Belsk, Moldavia), and Anastassy to
show up at Mansonville no later than yesterday, July 26, so that they
could participate in the ongoing "Sobor" and "elect a worthy
Metropolitan" just as Metropolitan Philaret was elected during the
life of Metropolitan Anastassy.

(This is, btw, a change in Mansonville teaching--previously, their
position had been that the retirement of a Metropolitan is
uncanonical--that a Metropolitan is elected for life, etc.)
Now, it seems that it is OK. (I wonder if Ierei Kirill agrees--he
argued so strongly that Metropolitans cannot be retired or even
voluntarily retire).

So--they're going to elect a new Metropolitan. . .

Hmm. . . .

I wonder whom Archbishop Antony thinks the best candidate would be?

Do you think he has a white klobuk prepared for himself already?

The timing of the "summonses" (they were dated July 11/24, but who
knows when they were sent?) with a demand to appear by July 13/26 is
irrational--how could bishops from Moldavia and the Far East be able
to get to Mansonville in such a short time?

So, it seems that the "Sobor" will consist only of Archbishop Anthony
and Bishop Victor Pivovarov--and perhaps they will have managed to
consecrate the two Archimandrites (Damascene and Stefan) by the time
they "elect" a new Metropolitan.

Is there anyone in the ROCiE who will support such an election and
consider it valid?

And, actually, someone should suggest to Liudmilla Rosnianskaya that
she should get Metropolitan Vitaly to proclaim "Anathema" three times
at Archbishop Antony (Orloff) and his associates--according to
official ROCiE teaching, such an oral pronouncement by the
Metropolitan is a valid way of deposing a bishop--remember when they
said that about Bishop Michael (Donskoff)?

Then some of their problems would be solved.

Anyway, stay tuned--the circus continues. . . .

With love in Christ,

Prot. Alexander Lebedeff

I posted something far too wretched for even me to say ,so i erased it instead- Forgive me...
I dont claim any jurisdiction and at this time Im closely praying and watching , I am an Orthodox Christian though and I follow the old calendar and love the old Believer way of russia and Greece...
I bet it must have been so beautiful to walk with Christ as the Holy apostles did...I can only imagine how Beautiful that generation must have been, and to think in this age when God still visits His creation we wish to be alone and hate our brothers/sisters-our very neighbors,Those made in the image of God , Us/Them Orthodox Christians...may God have mercy on us all, especially me His most unworthy servant, a filthy wretch

Dear Spiridon:

No time of the holy Church was a story of fairies, there have always been even disputes among the Apostles: For instance between the Apostle Paul and the Apostle Peter; or the one between the Apostle Paul and the Apostle Varnava.

See Father again you missed the point, I didnt say there was never debate- what I did said is - to have walked amongst God Himself in the flesh as the Apostles did must have been extremely beautiful...
you quickly jumped instead to making a point , that argument and disagreement have always existed...This is very true the evil one has existed for a very long time and the main cause of Brothers/sisters disputes...lets us not ponder on the dirt of the floor or the pillars that hold a worldly structure up, instead let us focus on the whole structure inside and out and those coming in dieing from the outside world of debate, resenment, and fear to do nothing more then to Glorify Him in whose image we were made- God

I do not know Fr Alexander, but reading his posts over the last six months I have found him to be a well-written and articulate writer.

I don't believe that he is so articulate when few years ago he wrote against the MP and the MP has changed little or rather nothing from that time.

Here one prove

In March of 1999, Father Alexander Lebedeff wrote the following:

"And, for your information, Jordanville is hardly a fountain of
"liberalism." At my time, we were taught by "hard liners" such as
Archbishop Averky, Archimandrite Konstantin, Professor Andreev and
others, many of whom held (and taught) the position that there was no
grace in the Moscow Patriarchate."
