As HOCNA is on topic in the Traditional Orthodox Churches section of the Forum, would you like to see HOCNA added to the Map section of the Cafe with the other Old Calendarist Churches?

A far better directory of Greek Old Calendarist parishes is located at:

Better? How so? Of course ours is not restricted to just one nationality of Churches either. :-)

No, this groups history is such that one might only use extreme caution, surely. Therefore to list it will no doubt lead to some questing soul at some point to approach, taking the listing as an endorsement regardless of the intentions of the those listing it.

As to the quality or otherwise of their translation. All I can say having looked at many scriptural translations available into English, I find theirs commendable. The language of scripture in many languages is often not that of the street, but an elevated one.

No doubt, many will have strong feelings on such a subject either way. I have mine and have no need to demolish the choice or preference of others in order to justify it, surely?

It is better because it is not restricted by arbitrariness or personal preference. It is simply a list of all churches in the U.S. belonging to one of the recognized Greek Old Calendarist Synods. You can argue back and forth about who's canonical/uncanonical/schismatic/heretical/sinful, etc., and all you end up with is an uncomplete list based on the opinions of the individual complier. The superior Directory avoids all that and just presents the facts.

A different one sure, and a helpful one, no doubt, but I would argue claiming superiority since it only lists Greek churches and has no interactive map nor driving directions features.

But for the record, what do you mean by 'recognized' Greek synods and "not restricted by arbitrariness or personal preference"? Because some unarbitrary people would even consider the following a "recognized Greek Old Calendarist Synod" : http://www.oldorthodox.org/

I claim it is superior because it is a complete directory, not just of those jurisdictions which the complier (whoever he may be) feels sympathy with. Helpful features like a map (the user will likely already know what state he/she is in or will be traveling through, so it's really unnecessary) and driving directions (helpful yes, but also available through several other free sites) doesn't change this fact.

All one has to do is look at the list of included jurisdictions and the ongoing discussion to see what I mean by arbitrariness or personal preference.

If you visit Greece, you will understand what I mean by recognized
Old Calendarists versus bogus, pseudo-Old Calendarists, such as those in the link you mentioned.
