Metropolitan Pavlos returns to Church!

Post by Priest Siluan »

From Paradosis:

Dear In Christ,

His Emminence, Metropolitan Pavlos of America, was able to attend St
Markella's Cathedral on his Name Day June 29/July 12. Photos have
recently been posted on our Metropolis's website:

The image on the left is a thumbnail, which if clicked will open a
short photogallery.

His Emminence suffered a stroke in February and this is the first time
he was able to come back to his Church. Glory be to God for his
recovery thus far! He is still paralyzed on his right side but I have
been informed that with severe physical therapy and of course our
prayers it is conceivable that improvement could be made there as well.

Yours in Christ,

Anastasios

It is truly a miracle Met. Pavlos has recovered this much!

Dear in Christ,

Yesterday Ioannis, Anastasios and I were blessed to go visit Despota Pavlos, and I want to report that he is able to talk clearly and understand people completely. We had some very in depth conversations, so please know that he is now fluent in English and Greek, and looking very healthy, however he still is in rehab to get better at walking and God willing regain full control over his right side.

Metropolitan Pavlos Update

On Christmas Eve Day, December 24/January 6, my wife Michaela and I visited His Emminence, Metropolitan Pavlos. We noticed steady improvement has occurred since our last visit. His Emminence can now move his formerly paralyzed arm up and down in deliberate and repeatable movements. My wife and I witnessed him do this multiple times. Fr Savvas told us that recently he regained the ability to slightly move his leg but that it is still very tiring for him to do so so he did not do it when we were there. The first half of our visit he spoke clearly in complete sentences, but when he became tired, he did have trouble speaking at times.

After we left His Emminence, he attended Christmas Vigil at St Markella's, and after the Vigil, in the hall he spoke publicly for about 30 seconds to give an impromptu (i.e., NOT read) blessing. He did not have any trouble speaking.

Glory to God for his mercy! Please continue to pray for His Emminence to recover fully!
