Hypotheitical Question to everyone.

Post by Ekaterina »

With all the jurisdiction bashing there has been going, the "you are heretics, with no grace" routines......it occurred to me this morning.....

You are traveling, be it home or abroad, it is announced that an asteroid will hit the planet and cause masive devastation. There is no way to get home in time. There is a distinct possibility that you will die. Problem....the only church available to make your peace with God is someone you consider to be without grace......what would you do?

Go to confession in the place without supposed grace?

or

Skip the confession and hope you are ready to meet your Maker?

Think HARD before answering. I know what I would do......

We don't need a human intermediary to be forgiven for our sins. Fall to your knees and confess to Christ in prayer. You will be forgiven.

So you would not seek the solace of a church environment in such an instance?

That would depend on the Church. If there were ANY Orthodox church around I would go to it. I would not necessarily seek out a Priest to confess to - I don't believe that is imperative. The idea that God would reject any sincere prayers/confession based upon where they were said, or through whom they were confessed, is absurd. Any God that would do that does not deserve my love.

I would go into any Orthodox church that I could reach. For MANY reasons, which are too numerous, contraversial, debate-provoking, ETC.!!

I would go. I would want to be in a place were people of a similar heart would be. God's grace might be there in the last hour.
