WOW! This is so very sad. All this happened more than four years ago.

Would you appreciate your Bishops being addressed by their civil names? I think that you crazies would be the first to pounce that the Bishops of the Vitaliban should be honoured and obeyed.

This was a very painful period in the life of what was the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. She no longer exists so let's put all this to rest.

Where is your Christian forgiveness? Is it only for those whom you have self styled to be with Grace?

Myrr,

For one thing, you don't even identify yourself. You hide behind a fake name and try to stir up trouble. Second, did you know that Vladika Vitaly was one of the main instigators against St. John Maximovich? Well did you?? Vitaly helped to bring St. John to court for the FALSE accusation of stealing(if I recall correctly).

Vitaly didn't even want to consecrate Vladika John as a saint(which indicated his complete dislike for him). It was Bp Peter of the old calendar Greeks that called him and told him that he better do it or else the Greeks would. I got this information from a person that talked to Bp. Peter, about it, at the time.

I believe that Vitaly is getting his just reward. When I heard that he was one of the culprits against St. John Maximovich...it turned my views around completely. Then I heard plenty of other things about Vitaly which I won't repeat here.

So Myrr, or whatever your name is...don't be such a patsy. Don't go following a person blindly like they are some kind of perfect person, because that just makes you ignorant and a fool.

But, I guess you would support Vitaly about convicting St. John Maximovich, if that Jaba the Hud, Ludmilla, tells you so.

Get a brain and think for yourself.

Joanna

Well, in these responses are further examples of one aspect of such incidents. The incidents themselves can be brushed away as 'something in the past' to be forgotten so not to disturb us, because we think in being committed Christians we've found a perfect alibi for ourselves - we think we can insist on forgiveness. But that's no something we can impose on others - we don't have the right anyway to impose our will on others- it's for the victims, the injured parties themselves, to forgive or not. What are we forgiving? A man x murders several people we don't know and we forgive him? How generous of us. Yes, in our striving to be perfect as God is perfect we're required to forgive all as we're required to love all as God is ever merciful and ever loving, but first and foremost forgiving is a personal discipline we accept as part, a large part, of living a Christian life, for injury done to us, personally. That's where it shows in changing our own being. And it's this personal aspect that Christ stresses in His teaching about it, the abstract all loving is practiced in our personal encounters, bless those that curse us, pray for them that despitefully use us.

Christ teaches us to love our neighbour as ourselves, who is our neighbour? The example he gives is to love the one, even the perceived enemy, who has been set upon by thieves, robbed and beaten up, bleeding and alone, ignored by all those passing by. Do you think they're deeply touched by our godlike love that having done nothing for them we've forgiven their attacker and call them insane who even dare mention what happened to them?

OK, I'll bite. Why do you ask me this and not the person keeping this thread alive? If there is anyone on the attack it is the person who started this thread and who has failed to answer my questions.

However, to answer your question. YES, I do mean to attack AND make fun.
