To be fair, this group is controversial even in the circus that is the modern-day Episcopal "Church".

Just to add a short comment on Orthodox charities; my rocor parish sent a donation to earthquake victims in (Moslem) Pakistan. And I was happy that they did!

Mihailo, thank you for bringing some reason to this.

Despite what Kollyvas says in the opening post, that church is not Eastern Rite. The church follows a rite which that was compiled by the current rector, and which is based on the 1979 ECUSA Book of Common Prayer with regard to its structure. However, the externals, such as vestments, ceremonial, &c., are from a combination of sources - some of them ERite, some of them WRite, others made up by this parish locally.

The rector of the parish compiled a book a few years back about the development of the worship there, which I found an interesting read, if not based on rather bizarre reasoning.

Within ECUSA, the parish is loved by those who favour liturgical renovation and is held in very low regard by those who do not.

In any case, it is not ERite and doesn't concern those of us who are Orthodox.

E Rite Elements

Christ is Risen!
No, it is some mangled syncretic rite that looks Eastern and is riddled with Eastern elements, precisely the thing that would come out of some demonic ecumenist renovationist laboratory, not unlike some of the spectacles going on in modernist jurisdictions AND THEIR DIRECTION. Opening the floodgates to the FILTH of ecumenism will bring this GARBAGE to our parishes, AND THAT IS SOMETHING WE CAN NEVER ABIDE!

Look for elements of this "worship" to begin being phased in with the liberal segments amnogst the new calendar greeks--they value their "ethnicity" more than Truth.

Love is a holy state of the soul, disposing it to value knowledge of God above all created things. We cannot attain lasting possession of such love while we are attached to anything worldly. —St. Maximos The Confessor
