Memory Eternal to Abp. Sergei. I had hoped he would recover, but I guess this was not the Lord's will.
+In a blessed falling asleep, grant O Lord, eternal rest unto Thy departed servant Archbishop Sergei and make his memory to be eternal!+
May God grant Abp. Sergei forgiveness of all his sins and safe and speedy passage to a place of light and repose where there is no sickness sorrow or sighing.+

Vjechnaja Pamjat', Vladyko!
Love is a holy state of the soul, disposing it to value knowledge of God above all created things. We cannot attain lasting possession of such love while we are attached to anything worldly. —St. Maximos The Confessor
Pray for the newly-deceased Archbishop Sergius
On Monday, Apr. 10, 2006, at 00:12 hours, Archbishop Sergius peacefully left this world.
On Sunday afternoon, Sergius' sister was summoned to the hospital due to the worsening conditions of Vladyka. One by one, gathered at the hospital some of those who loved him. Around 30 parishioners came to bid him a final good bye. Recently ordained by Vladyka, deacon Aleksey Fimin was there as life left Vladyka.
Face of the deceased was calm and peaceful, his departure from this world was blissful.
Vladyka Sergius was a gentle Christian, a devoted monk and a loving father. In spite of his meek nature, his convictions were firm, he was a judicious person and was keenly aware of the ongoing apostasy of our times and the betrayal the Church Abroad.
