COMING SOON: A Very Exciting Café Project!

Post by 尼古拉前执事 »

We are working on a project here for the Cafe that is going to be a virtual map. When you are going to be traveling or moving, you smiply will put in the address of the place you will be staying and the map will show you the closest traditionalost, old calendar churches to your location. Each church will be color-coded for jurisdiction and when you click on the pointer on the map, it will give you the address with directions as well as the clergy, contact person, phone numbers, fax numbers, email addresses and the web site of the church. We are very excited about this new project that we have been working on throughout all of Great Lent and our hope is to have it up in time for Pascha.

Initially we will only be covering the United States of America, but we hope to add all of North America, South America, Australlia, Europe and Asia (currently Antarctica is MP only) within the next year.

We hope all of you you will find it very useful and we would like to publicly thank Juvenaly Martinka for assisting us in creating this all-new section of the Cafe!

Great Idea

Post by Jean-Serge »

It is a great idea!!! I could provide you the list in France. But a good definition of Traditional orthodox should be found. Is the Synod of Milan traditionalist, for instance?

Dear Jean-Serge,

For this project we decided on a couple rules.

  1. No "world orthodox" Churches, there is already a site that does this for "world orthodoxy".

  2. No synods that were created because an elder/monastic/bishop/etc. was accused of sexual abuse and was fleeing a spiritual court that he was being ccalled to. Thus no HOCNA nor Lamian/Makarian synods.

  3. We wanted Churches with the same current ecclesiology, regardless of how the individual Churches may see one another. Thus we are not including and churches with the so-called "Cyprianite" ecclesiology such as the "synod in resistance", the milan synod, etc.

Thus , at least for right now, our plan is to have GOC, Matthewite, ROAC & ROCiE parishes listed. There may be further arguments for including churches of other synods later down the line, but for now we are only going to start with these three.

But which is ROCIE, ROAC and GOC's ecclesiology? Do they consider themselves the only orthodox churches in their respective countries or in the world?

Don't worry, the "World Orthodoxy" thinks the same thing, only that they have sadly abandoned la Tradition of the Church, that is to say the Apostolic Teaching, the Holy Canons etc they left the pity of the Church to follow the Ecumenism.

Then has to those "Moderate" (Kyprianites) who they say to follow the tradition but they ingratiate the whole time with the "World Orthodoxy", a man cannot have two masters.

Then the degenerate ones who put the Ecumenism like excuse to cover their own sins.

FROC/ROAC, ROCiE y GOC (Kiousis) have taken the most narrow way. that serving a only master: Christ.

Being part of the "World Orthodoxy" group that Fr. Siluan mentions, I will have to disagree that they feel that they are the only orthodox churches in their respective countries or the world.

Of course, I speak as a simple layperson/reader. I do not know the inner workings of my "World Orthodox" jurisdiction.

Most of us, try to live our day to day lives in Christ. We do not get ourselves involved in ecumenism. Our priest, bishop has never mentioned nor encouraged such things. They have not involved themselves in such, as far as I know.

To say that the common layperson has abandon the Traditions of the Church/Apostolic teaching.... I think that they are just trying their best to live in Christ and asking for the mercy and forgiveness of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on a daily basis.

As to the Canons, we all have broken them, regardless of Traditional or World Orthodox. I can quote some, but let it suffice to say, it wouldn't matter. What would it prove, who would benefit?

I am thankful to God, knowing that He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to redemption. Our hope is in Christ, if I personally am to be condemned for that hope, so be it.

May the Lord have mercy upon us and redeem us all.

Your fellow struggler in Christ,

Rd. Chrysostomos
