Re: Metropolitan Anthony Bloom: A Personal Testimony, Olga M

What utter garbage this "testimony" is. Instead of a testimony about the character of Met. Anthony, it should serve as a testimony to the continued insanity of the Moss crew.

Funny how they started accusing ROCOR of heresy and evil doing not too long after all this...even during Met. Philaret's time.

I did greatly enjoy this part though:

METROPOLITAN ANTHONY BLOOM: A PERSONAL

Code: Select all

I was still in the MP when once I was drinking some tea after the liturgy. Metropolitan Anthony came up to me and said: “Today I’m going to your country.” He meant Holland, which is where my parents lived. I asked him: “Why?” He replied: “I have to see Bishop Dionysius, as he has caused a crisis in the Church.” I asked: “Why? Is he a Mason?” [/quote]

Seems like Ms. Moss' question would have been my first response as well. Only seems logical, right? I mean...there's a crisis so logically it has to do with Freemasonry. It always does.

what???????????????????

IT WOULD BE MORE INTERESTING TO GIVE ARGUMENTS DENYING THE DOUBTS FROM Mrs MOSS.

That's sort of like me saying: "Jean-Serge is a mason, crypt-catholic, neo-marxist, and has been seen late at night on the streets of Paris trying to steal children to use their blood to cure lepresy. Though, in his public life he'll do everything to hide these facts."

And then saying...well, if it's not true I'd like to see it disproven!!! How would one go about disproving these things? The burden is on the accuser to provide the proof...not the defense to provide a response to outlandish claims.

Totally illogical.

Proving a negative...

Post by Kollyvas »

Besides discounting +Metropolitan Anthony's weighty evangelical witness, it calls on one to prove a negative. Hardly, legitimate argumentation...

Dear Olga Moss

serial rape and murder are not activities expected of a bishop. Without corrobaration, your testimony is likely to be regarded as apocryphal.

Do you think it fair to say that Metropolitan Anthony was a man mesmerised by conviction of his own damnation and devoted his life to warning his brethren. Rather as Lazarus's rich man wanted to do?

New Doubts

Post by Kollyvas »

Evlogeite.
While being thoroughly appeciative of +Metropolitan Anthony's loving pastorship and seeing it as a model worthy of emulation, I have had certain bits & pieces brought to my attention to make me doubt the case for +Metropolitan Anthony's glorification. I would further emphasize that a commission entrusted to oversee his glorification, when the time comes, not be hasty, but rather exhaustive and thoroughly scrupulous. Something is not right. With that, I still disdainfully address this attempt of the mosses at a smear.

I wrote Vladimir Moss so that he could get involved in this thread, and here was his response.

"ersatz"

Post by Kollyvas »

Another "ersatz" resister lacking the courage of his convictions, alas. I will say I am more sceptical now, but I think smearing the dead is unworthy of an Orthodox Christian. Doctrinal, jurisdictional, scholarly differences are fine if there's substance, however, and approached with a discretion which understands that the person in question has passed and cannot defend himself.
