NEWS/PRESS RELEASE

Re: Metropolitan PAVLOS of America hospitalized

Metropolitan PAVLOS, the Archbishop of America, suffered a very
serious brain hemorrhage while at his residence in Astoria early
yesterday evening. He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital of Queens, and
then transferred to Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan.

His attending neurologist, Dr. Ronald Alterman, stated that it is
still too early to determine how much neurological damage His
Eminence suffered. The Metropolitan is currently being kept under
sedation.

The Holy Metropolis asks that everyone pray to the Mother of our God,
the Most Holy Theotokos, that she may intercede with her son our Lord
God and Savior Jesus Christ, that He have mercy on His servant
Metropolitan PAVLOS.

At 7:00 PM every evening, at the Cathedral of St. Markella, a
Supplicatory Canon to the Mother of God will be conducted on behalf
of His Eminence Metropolitan PAVLOS.

Update on Metropolitan Pavlos of America

Post by Priest Siluan »

From Paradosis Yahoo Gruop:

Dear in Christ,

I received a (mass) email from Bishop Christodoulos today that states
that Metropolitan Pavlos has stabilized, is sedated still to protect
his brain, will be brought back to consciousness when appropriate, and
is expected to recover. The extent of neurological damage will only be
ascertained upon waking him up.

Bishop Christodoulos thanks all who have prayed for Metropolitan Pavlos
and asks you to continue to do so.

Yours in Christ,

Anastasios

Is there such a Church as "The Greek Orthodox Church of America?" or are the schismatics?, I've never heard of "Constantinople" or Greece giving a Blessing for "Greek Church of America"???????

The Genuine Greek Orthodox Church of America is a Metropolis of the Church of the Genuine Orthodox Christians of Greece, often called the GOC. This is the Church of the hierarchs that stayed on the Orthodox Church Calendar, keeping with the teachings of the Holy Fathers and the Canons of the Ecumenical and Local Councils.

Update from the GOC

Post by 尼古拉前执事 »

This weekend while in Chicago, I got an update that Despota Pavlos is out of the coma but half of his body is still paralyzed, however both sides of his brain are apparently working, Glory be to God! On Friday he was able to get up and stand for 15 seconds and 30 seconds on Saturday bodes very well for him as the type of stroke he has is the same as Vladyka Sergei had suffered through before his passing.
