Armenian Church celebrate on jan 6th ?

why do some of the oriental churchs celebrate on Jan 6th, is this a more proper date to celebrate the Nativity of our Lord ?
and where does the armenian church stand with the rest of the orthodox
tradtionalists and modernist`s?
