True Orthodoxy

Post by drewmeister2 »

Some people have told me that the True Orthodox groups are a bad idea, since the faith of the World Orthodox hasn't really changed. The only reason it appears the World Orthodox faith has changed, so I have been told, is because of bad heirarchs. But is this really all it is? Has the World Orthodox faith changed, or are there just some bad Orthodox heirarchs right now?

Thanks :).

That is easy, please, read the Holy Canons, Holy Fathers, that is to say The Holy Orthodox Tradition and compare which of both remain in it: World Orthodoxy or the True and Traditional Orthodoxy. That that doesn't remain in it is because already had stopped to believe rightly and in consequence it shoul be no longer called orthodox... That that doesn't remain in it is because it has a new creed...

Thank you, Father Siluan. But I guess I am wondering if it is only the heirarchs who are corrupt, and not the actual World Orthodox Church. I mean, anyone can have corrupt heirarchs, but that doesn't mean that the teachings of the Church have changed.

Maybe a better question to ask is: how can one see for sure what the World Orthodox really teach?

as the old saying goes, "The leaves dont fall far from the tree", if a Heirarch is corrupt how could one follow them? true we follow Christ, but they were appointed by apostolic succession to Shepard us ,as Christ`s adopted children. we received this Truth from Christ to Follow tradition which will always remain TRUTH, because it was given to us by Christ, and passed on to us by the Blessed Theotokos, his Holy Hosts and Saints,Martyrs and The Fathers of the Church.....Ive quit many jobs because of corruption at the top, I would never allow that corruption to interfere with the salvation of my soul and what is pleasing to God..
there is no middle of the road in Christ, you either go 100% or your outside, reguardless of what you wear(jeans, pectoral Cross and Theotokos,Monastic clothing,Etc)..............cc

But heirarchs also aren't God either, they can fail and make mistakes. I mean, we can't honestly expect a heirarch to be perfect? That wouldn't make any sense, as only God is perfect. So how corrupt can a heirarch be before we must leave his guidance?

Well, in the traditional jurisdictions there are also corrupt hierarches, and in the Word Orthodoxy should also have morally good hierarches, but this doesn't have anything to do with the Faith... if you ask for if there was change in the faith you should only looks to begin how the world orthodoxy recognizes the heretical mysteries... this was not what the Holy canons and Holy Fathers teach us.

St. Peter the Aluet died a painful death for refusing to be heretically rebaptized and he is an Orthodox Saint in America. Holy Baptism in the name of the Holy Trinity in accordance with the Gospel is an exceedingly serious issue that is the purview of Bishops.

Pan-religious nonsense by a Bishop should lead the sane laymen to run away.

respectfully submitted,
