Traditionnalist in the MP?

Post by Jean-Serge »

Kollyvas is speaking about Traditionnalists in the MP. In France, I hardly can see them. The scen is dominated ny ecumenists and the MP Bishop Innocent of Chersonese (Korsun) also attended the "Orthodx vespers" at Notre Dame. The year before, at such vespers, the MP deacon even commemorated the Catholic bishop... So I am very dubious about this trend in the MP.

Moreover, we all know that Kirill of Smolensk, who represents the MP on the International scene is highly ecumenist. His spiritual "father" was the so-called Metropolitan Nicodem of Leningrad who was a notorius KGB agent and atheist. I fear about Kirill's quality... Even worse, Kirill is said to be the next "Patriarch"... How could you have hope in such corrupt organization?

I believe that the question about Nikodim of Leningrado is even worse, He was a converted Roman Catholic secretly and he died in arms of the Pope John Paul I after receiving the Latin sacraments.

MP, etc.

Post by Kollyvas »

I have mentioned the brotherhoods and the monasteries in Russia. Look into Valaam or the Brotherhood of St. Ignatios Branchaninov, besides, it seems I'm very much a Traditionalist, so...I would say that in the MP, "Traditionalism" is much more real than in, say. ROCOR, where things are bungled and confused; moreover; in the MP, we have the appartus of the Russian church and our faithful are a living continuity...

Thank you

Thank you for these indications. I do not know the situation in Russian and cannot read Russian... You point a big question : the hierarchy is still old fashioned. Isn't this a schizphrenia from your part : following a "red" hierarchy and supporting the opposite trend?

NOT 1984...

This is NOT 1984. The cold war is over. I fought in it and we won...Moreover, I'm sure you've encountered the heresy of donatism. Your criticism is nothing more than that...

...a document strongly condemning ecumenism of any kind written by monks of Valaam Monastery is entitled "The Way of Universal Renovation."...

Yes I was there

Post by Jean-Serge »

Yes I was there in 2004, when the MP deacon comamorated the Catholic bishop... The deacon is deacon in the parish

Notre Name Joie des Affligées
4, rue Saint-Victor,
75005 Paris.
His name is André Chépélov; more exactly he is protodeacon...

But the priest celebrating the vespers in 2004 was from the Eulogian group, the choir from many parishes, there was the Greek metropolitan, a Romanian bishop etc...
