While considering a response to a thread, ran across the following interesting webpage linking St. Peter the Aleut with a R.C. saint:

It appears to be the first time I have seen this done, and I wonder if the Romans are serious. Of course St. Peter was killed by RC authorities while the Roman Saint was killed by Cossacks.
However, we see this beginning to be addressed which is a large step in a new direction. There is a 1000 years of this to reconcile, as well as Papal claims of infallibility, supremecy, etc... before any real communion could take place.
Only with dialogue can it begin, but it has to be dialogue that gets to the heart of these issues. But if the Orthodox are split, how can it begin? Are the laity are rightfully suspicious of our hierarchy due to non-canonical activities?
Should an eigth Ecumenical counsel be considered?
