Brother Nathaniel,

"It is through these that I have recently learned that ROCOR Abp Mark of Berlin who is at the lead in bringing the other bishops into union with the MP is a JEW.

His parents were violinists in East Germany a typical "Jewish profession" in the early 1900's and still is today except for the orientals who since the late 20th century joined the Jews in this profession. "

For the love of Christ, there is no need to make statements that sound like they're coming out of Berlin, c.1939. Anti-semitism leads Christians to commit horrible sins. We are called to pray for those who do not know the truth, not to despise them. Anyone involved with ROCOR, knows that hearts are breaking over this issue. We need prayer and faith, NOT condemnation.

Many people lose track of what they should focus on...especially those who spend all their time expressing themselves in such an angry and hateful manner. Here is a prayer of St. Philaret, Metropolitan of Moscow. Perhaps it will be give some spiritual enlightenment to those who live in such sad darkness of heart.

My Lord, I know not what I ought to ask of Thee. Thou and Thou alone knowest my needs. Thou lovest me more than I am able to love Thee. O Father, grant unto me, Thy servant, all which I cannot ask. For a cross I dare not ask, nor for consolation; I dare only to stand in Thy presence. My heart is open to Thee. Thou seest my needs of which I myself am unaware. Behold and lift me up. In Thy presence I stand, awed and silenced by Thy Holy Will and Thy judgments, into which my mind cannot penetrate. To Thee I offer myself as a sacrifice. No other desire is mine but to fulfill Thy Holy Will. Teach me how to pray. Do Thyself pray within me. Amen.

In Christ,

Joanna

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Ps. 50)

I love that prayer. It helps us express humility to God, which can be so difficult for us in day-to-day life

Dear Sue and Joaisia,

The peace of Christ be with you holy orthodox women my sisters and "mothers" in our Lord Jesus Christ.

I would like to tell you of an incident that I recently learned of in the episcopal career of Herr Abp Mark of Deutchland, Berlin!

In the 1980's Mark of Berlin had a priest "John ..." who had left his Matushka for another woman. The "strict-disciplinarian" in Mark got the best of him. For after his priest came to his senses and wished to demonstrate a commendable "repentance," Mark cut this poor contrite soul down to his small size and defrocked him! "I'll teach him and all who sin like him from henceforth and ever after a lesson he and they will never forget!"

And it is with this same unyielding and mercilessness "strictness," that Mark is marching all of ROCOR into the ditch of the MP's KGB infested sewer.

pjhatala,

He certainly isn't. He keeps looking outwardly, instead of inwardly.

I truly believe this sums up what you are all about my good friend. First off, who are you and we as a whole to question what a confessor deems just penance to a penitent. In the dynamic you provided as an example, it is just that. When a Priest commits serious transgressions, me as a lowly lay person can not fathom the responsibility a Bishop has in such a case. I disagree with your assumption that Archbishop Mark's handling of this situation was mercilessness. It appears that if one could and does walk out on his family, one could also walk out on his priestly responsibilities also. So we could assume all Germans in leadership roles, who do things you don't agree with are "Nazi's" and soon to be KGB Operatives. You may want to check the calendar we are living in a much better time or we can see it as you do the world came to an end in 1917.
