I better watch my garbage then. I think the above post is completely pointless without a true and proper understanding of the motives behind the thoughts of the Hierarchs.

Kind of like how one can say they accept Gregory of Colorado as a lawful (and the only in some cases) Hierarch one day and then the next say just the opposite.

I say this not to spite you, for I believed this for a while, but the idea of WHY we believe things to be true is paramount to the fact that we do or do not.

Let us, as hard as it might be, attempt to be patient and wait this all out without attacking others in the process. I also find it interesting that those with the greatest ammount of condemnation for this Union are those that are window shopping from the outside and have left the ROCOR (or were never a part of the ROCOR) and so donot see things from an Ecclesiastical standpoint but from an outsider's standpoint. Sad really.

I think that it's ok to discuss the opinions of other "world Orthodox" Bishops and even hint at admiration or disappointnent, and it doesn't matter the jurisdiction...
For instance, as stated, I have the greatest respect for +Hilarion and +Daniel of ROCOR. I think +Longin of the Serbs is quite good. I like +Archbishop Demetrios of the GOA and respect his erudition. I rather enjoy +Basil and +Joseph of the Antiochians. I love +Metropolitan Herman, and I respect +Ireneu, +Nathaniel, +Kyril, +Tikhon, +Nikolai even +Tikhon-SF of the OCA...

I think that Bp. Gabriel has handled the situation admirably. But apparently there is no room for cautious moderates in this game that people are playing. You're either For or Against... if you can't be classified as one of those then you are labeled wishy-washy and are ridiculed. Funny thing is, about a year ago Bp. Gabriel was being lauded on this very forum for being one of the few, if not the only, "voice of reason" within ROCOR.

Bottom-line to all of this is what difference does it make. Interesting point Kollyvas makes in his approval of Hierarchs, not one from an "Exile" ROCOR group. Also have a comical point, if the Holy Synod in NY offered our good Bro. Nathaniel a seat, how quick would he change his tune?
