HOCNA EXPOSED Part I

Post by Nathaniel Kapner »

IN 1966 - FATHER PANTELEIMON, Fr. Ephraim, Fr. Isaac, and Fr. Haralampos of Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Boston MA place themselves under the Russian Jurisdiction of ROCOR/ Philaret.

IN 1966 - FRS' PETER CARRAS, Alexander Dizes, Niketas Palasis, Fr. Anthony Gavalas and other Greek clergy with their parishes, follow the HTM Fathers and place themselves under the Russian Jurisdiction of ROCOR/Philaret.

FROM 1966-1978 - MANY NC GREEKS from all over the world are wooed by Fr. Panteleimon to leave the New Calander Greek Church.

FROM 1966-1978 - MANY OC and NC GREEKS continually inquire of Fr. Panteleimon why he, HTM, and his partisan Greek clergy and parishes are "with the Russians" rather than "with the Greeks," especially Bishops' Peter of Astoria and his rival, Bishop Paisus of New York.

IN 1979 - THEIR PERSISTENT inquiry eventuated in the HTM/ Clergy Document entitled A CLARIFICATION.

IN 1979 - A CLARIFICATION is circulated. This Document accuses Archbishop Auxentios of the following:

1) Simony
2) Deceit
3) Uncanonical Consecrations
4) Secret Consecrations
5) Scheming
6) Seditious Conduct
7) Retaliatory Tactics
8) Power Tactics

BOTTOM LINE: Archbishop Auxentios receives harsh censure and denunciation from Fr. Panteleimon and partisan clergy in this Document A CLARIFICATION. Less than 8 years later Fr. Panteleimon & his Greek parishes are praising Archbishop Auxentios to the moon. Why?

EXCERPTS FROM A CLARIFICATION WILL BE PRESENTED ON MY FOLLOW-UP POST - "HOCNA EXPOSED Part II."

HTM was initially received into the Metropolia due to Fr. Schmemann's efforts, and at the outset, they were quite moderate...
