The only thing wrong with this idea is the Responsibility one will take on behind closed doors, for instance owning a bar/tavern one is for sure the type of business is lawful and somewhat moral, but the drinking that sometimes happens there and causes a man to get a little tipsy and get home late has now caused a heated debate at home-and who knows the outcome of that....is it the bar owners fault, maybe not but he is the provider of this service isnt he? so again being the root of the meeting of two people reguardless of being Orthodox or not has its responsibility`s....I think what people are looking for in an a legite dating service is one with criminal background check and stuff like that.. hooking complete stranger together could be disastrous.....plus it seems very weird....................

Your fears

Post by Jean-Serge »

I understand your fears. And I thought about this previously... It is a platform in order to help people to meet, chat, know better one another etc...

I thought about how preventing excesses like scamming, those girl who fall in love so quickly and ask money, about mens related to prostitution nets that could deceive girls from poor countries promising a marriage etc... I thought about this...

Priidite, poklonimsja i pripadem ko Hristu.

Why would that dating site listed as a link above ask about one's "Astrological" sign?

About the OP... I don't know if I would qualify for a site if you are only looking for "Old Calendar" and I don't understand what you mean by "true Orthodox jurisdictions."

xenia: I think he's referring to the "Zen Coptic Orthodox Church", "Coptic Orthodox-Catholic Church", "Evangelical Orthodox", and other such unseemly Ras-Tafarian and evangelical spin-offs of Orthodoxy.

Ignorance is bliss, while I have heard a bit about the Evangelical Orthodox it has been only in passing. Otherwise, I never heard of the rest of these.

Instead of a "Orthodox Dateing Service" you can do what I did,
I met my sweetheart out side of the church, and we started dateing seriously and I prayed that the Lord would show her the Truth in the Orthodox Church, and one saturday she asked if she could go with me to Church, fell in Love with it and now my sweetie is going to be Baptized and Christmated Godwilling some time in Feb, and we will also be Married in the Church around the same time... That works better then a service.
