Our names are Subdeacon John and Ioanna Phillips. We live in Georgetown, Mass. We are members of St. Nicholas Orthodox Parish in Elmwood Park, NJ.

Dear Peter,
John and Ioannis would be the same name, but Ioanna is the equivalent of Joanna, which would be the feminine form of John. Maybe you were thinking of Ioannis which is Greek for John?
