Niphon

I didnt understand the personal attack that was directed to you. I am sure that my english is far more worse than yours and I find your argument very good.

Exact science must presently fall upon its own keen sword...from Skepsis there is a path to "second religiousness," which is the sequel and not the preface of the Culture.

Left and Right

Post by DavidHawthorne »

I believe the mindset of Protestants who come to the Church (like myself) can lead to damaging the Church equally whether the temptations to act in still-Protestant ways comes from the right or the left.
Temptations from the left can lead to compromises with ecumenism and modernism and flirting with union with the heterodox while shunning traditionalists.
Temptations from the right can lead to the super-correctness disease where we can endlessly sub-divide the Church with a "more Orthodox than thou" attitude based upon our own reading and interpretation of the canons and their "obvious" meaning much as the Protestants keep creating new denominations based on their own reading and interpretation of the "obvious" meaning of Scripture. There is a kindred spirit in "We just follow the Bible" and "We just follow the canons"
Walking the narrow path between false union with heretics and false seperation from our own Orthodox brothers and sisters s a tight-rope walk we should always approach with fear and trembling.

In Christ,
Rd. David
