BISHOPS SHOULD POST! On Euphrosynos Cafe!

"DEMEANING?" How would a 'post' to E. Cafe' by an OC Bishop "demean" him? Are our Bishops better than the Apostles who were willing to be "the off-scouring of the world?"

Are our Bishops beyond the pale of Him who has chosen "the foolish things of this world" and "things which are despised?"

Did not St Paul remind the haughty Corinthians, "Ye see how there are not many amongst you who are noble?"

Do our Bishops then wish to rub in our faces, that we the lowly who post on E. Cafe' are not among their Episcopal "nobility?"

I trow not. For our Bishops should be willing to have the members of their flock "honourable" but they themselves "despised." St Paul was willing, why should not our Bishops be? (I Corinthians 4:10)

If St. Paul did not deem it "demeaning" to 'post' on the pagan forum of Mars'Hill, why then should our OC bishops not 'post' on this, the pious forum of Euphrosynos Cafe' Discussion Forum?

Again and again I state:

"Who will gainsay me if I indicate to all of our beloved OC Hierarchs that their hesitation to post on E. Cafe.' " is A blatant and unconscionable refusal to 'Post' as St Paul exhorts, "Everyway whether in pretence or in Truth, CHRIST IS 'POSTED'?" Philippians 1:18

OLD-CALENDER JURISDICTION HIERARCHS ---
WHO WILL BE THE FIRST AMONGST YOU TO BEGIN POSTING?!!!

Bishops do not have a monopoly on "wisdom," dear Member. A
conciliar approach to the many issues that confront us is the order
of the day.

To say as you do: "It's our bishops that should be giving us
directions, and not the other way around," is nothing short of a
presciption for "cultism".

The laity and lower clergy can and should urge our bishops to a
conduct that is consonant with their Christian obligations. Our
bishops should be reminded that they are not to be "lords over God's
heritage," not only in conduct, but in attitude as well, a 'lording-
over attitude endemic to our present OC scenario.

I remind you, dear Mamber, that it was a 'simple' layman, none other
than St. Maximos the Confessor of the 7th Century, who set the
pattern for all future laity - to be the watchdogs over the mouths,
hands, and feet of the Church's bishops.

History has taught us that the bishops of the Church are the ones
who have led the Church into heresy and to use your quote, "not
the other way around."

With respect to the apostles no longer "waiting on tables," they
ceased from this practice to (I put it in modern terms), "Post" the
word.

We now live in a "virtual" village. Let the bishops come out from
hiding, get off of their high monitors and do something useful:
"Post" the word, Bishops, in season and on the Internet. And we your
unthanked watchdogs will hold you to your high offices' Christian
obligations.

With all due Respect to the Episcopacy of the Church,

First off- who are you responding to? At the time I'm writing this there are two posts in this thread and both are written by you. Maybe you've been granted enough spiritual insight to be able to read the posts of those who merely thought of replying?

Secondly, what you call a prescription for cultism may be the case when sumbitting to the bishops you've been under thus far. For the rest of us, what you describe above is the way the Orthodox Church works.

Forgive me. It was an OFFLIST response. I should have specified this. I will be more careful next time. My apologies.
