Question ::

Timothy Ware's books (The Orthodox Church/The Orthodox Faith) seem to have surounding them a bit of negative reations. I am wondering if anyone was brought to the Church through these books and if they think that these books are good stepping stones to bringing inquirers to the Faith. The reason I ask is that there is ia small group of people here in Arizona who are investigating Orthodoxy and I am trying to find something pretty basic to give them to read so that they get an idea that the Orthodox Church is not just another name for Catholicsm. Anyone? Thanks.

Get the 1st edition from sjkp.com and they are good. The newer versions added major modernism to them.

The lesser of the two evils are Carlton's books, "The Faith," The something or other " etc

Ware gives minimal credit to Sts Cyril & Methodios in his history of the conversion of the Slavs. Once you "mess" with the saints, the devil steps in.
