Bosnian Muslims

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

Bosnian Muslims

Post by jobrien »

I would like the members take on this question I have about the Bosnian Muslims. Since the Bosnian War occurred over 10 years ago, the Bosnian Muslims have been shown great outpouring of grief and sympathy from the international community. My question is this: Were these Bosnian Muslims a distinct ethnic and religious group or were they apart of the Ottoman Turkish people who invaded the region and systematically enslaved and forced convert the Orthodox and Catholic peoples into Islam in that region such as Bosnia? :|

Most Bosnian Muslims are people who converted to Islam for tax, property, and legal benefits. This is exactly what happened to the Albanians too. Albanians were Orthodox if they were anything until the Turks invaded.

This happened elsewhere such as Greece. But in Greece if you became Muslim they no longer considered you at all a Greek.

can you please explain yourself a little more, when one converts to Islam reguardless of what country one signs all property, family members already born and yet to be born, bills, and lifestyle to God...the act of converting to islam is on the rise..as you well know the spainiards converted the entire mexico country into catholicism in the 1700 to 1800`s. and at this movement the muslim religion is just about to exceed its catholic members in that area, becoming the fastest growing religion in south america..this is happening all over the place...

Where do you ca the information Islam would be growing in Latin America? I would say Protestantism... In fact Islam is growing due to the higher natatlity of these population.

As regards taxes under the Muslim regimes, the dhimmis (Christian and Jews) and to the a special tax called I think Jaziya. Becoming muslims was a way to dodge the tax.

In Latin America there are approximately:
450 million Catholics
60 million Protestants
4 million Muslims

The phenomena of the growth of Islam in Latin America is very interesting, and disturbing as well.

It is ironic, perhaps, the the United States armed and aided the Bosnian Muslims during the 90's. Many Islamist extremists own Bosnian passports (Osama bin Laden and one of the British bombers, to indicate a couple) and use it as a haven and stop-over on their travels between Europe and the Middle East.
