Elder Ephraim of Philotheou (currently living at St. Anthony's monastery in AZ - and of course the abbot of that monastery)

Elder Joseph of Vatopaidi

Elder Ephraim of Vatopaidi

Elder George of Grigoriou

and plenty more on Mount Athos... such elders are out there, one just has to look.

Can one be a holy elder while commemorating the Patriarch of Constantinople and being in communion with others, regarding them as faithful shepherds who rightly divide the word of truth while they publicly preach "another gospel" betraying the Saviour and His Church?

I take it that your question is rhetorical?

Elder Ephraim of Philotheou, who is a spiritual adviser of mine, isn't the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Saints Athony the Great and Nectarius of Aegina. The abbot there is Elder Paisius, who is a spiritual son of Elder Ephraim.
Now Elder Ephraim of Vatopaedi, is a Greek Cypriot, and very known for his piety. He often goes down from the Holy Mountain to hear confessions of his spiritual children. Elder George of Gregoriou is also a very famous holy elder, whom has written books. But due to the many exstacies of prayer, or as Saint Paul says, reaching the third Heaven, I heard he has problems walking nowadays which his body doesn't correspond that much to his mind because his mind is always towards the Lord.
Another one whom Cosmas hasn't said is Elder Aemilian of Simonos Petras, who lives down from Mount Athos now after resigning from Abbocy because he suffers from alszymers. He, too, is known of raising his soul up to the heavens as he is known all around the world for being a good confessor, he wrote books are recently getting published now.

Of course, Elder Ephraim is the only remaining and living disciple of Saint Elder Joseph the Hesychast who is to be glorified this year or the next one in 2006 by the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

Um... If I am correct another good confessor in America is the known Archimandrite Elder Dositheus, (the same one with the convert article) who is in Texas. Well there are many whom Elder Ephraim of Arizona is the spiritual Father of, and that has founded many Athonite typicon and practical Monasteries. Here is a site with adresses and phone numbers of these monasteries. http://www.stanthonysmonastery.org/Map.htm

I meant the abbot (Elder Paisios) in addition to Elder Ephraim, not to imply that Elder Ephraim is the abbot of St. Anthony's. Also Elder Joseph of Vatopaidi was the first monk in the synodia of Elder Joseph - so remains with Elder Eprhaim the two remaining disciples. And yes I forgot to mention Elder Dorotheos... another Philotheitis geronda here in America.

Father Roman Braga at Holy Dormition Monastery in Rives Junction, Michigan. Many of us have the opinion that he is a living saint.
