who isnt Ecumenist?

Post by spyridon »

O.k. it is true that I didnt ask who was ecumenist...my gosh just the other week I believed we shouls all come together w/protestants,baptist,catholics,etc. and unite....But,I have finally seen the downfall in that thought, its kinda like this
"well I dont believe in abortion, but whatever you decide away from my family is your choice"..............o.k. so I now see the poison,But my friends if you look at all the post Ive posted here this year,Ive been very confused and slowly but surely im starting to see how preserving our
holy and true church is becoming more and more as of the CATACOMB AGE.....so who isnt ecumenist.....Im asking if you lived in San Francisco where would land as to not land with an Ecumenist Tribe?....This is a matter of life and death here for me,I dont want to just be an empty soul in church on sundays,I want to be a part of somthing real and give back and keep that apostolic tradition and even fall for it,if it be Gods will...............................

Do you venerate Saint John Maximovitch of San Fransisco? If so, let him follow you. And also, head to the priest that baptised you for advice.

Me, personally, I would tell you, follow Saint John. (If you understand, what I mean, I hope grow spiritually well. Good Paradise!)

Although I am currently undecided about what jurisdiction I will belong to I basically follow the ecclesiology of Metropolitan Cyprian. I would just say that I have serious doubts that St.John of San Francisco would approve of what is currently happening in ROCOR and I am not sure he would champion the current dialogue with the Moscow Patriarchate.

Patriarchate of Jerusalem

Post by Jean-Serge »

The Patriarchate of Jerusalem stopped all theological dialogue with heterodox churches under Patriarch Diodore. So it cannot be considered as ecumenist... Moreover to those practicing their favorite sport (bashig jurisdiction), I would suggest to remember that you have anti-ecumenist fighting against ecumenist in the Patriarchate of Constantinople and Antioch etc... I think that the inter orthodox conference of Thessaloniki has clearly displayed we anti-ecumenist in "Wordl Orthodox churches" (I belong to the Serbian church) have not been been defeated yet. So please support our struggle instead of saying in 150% of your messages : oh this juridiction is wrong etc...

Would this more-orthodox-than-thou attitude so common on this site be indicative of the illness of prelest? I don't know much about it, but the lack of humility in such an attitude definitely seems very strange. Are there ways to defend the truth humbly? I would like to remain faithful to the true faith, but such attitudes make me feel disturbed and uncertain of where to turn.

Pray for me.

The Holy Fathers (and the Holy Canons) teach that we should not remain in communion with the heretics or schismatic. Then only thing that JP and SP shoud do is to break up in communion with False Orthodoxy and to enter in communion with the Authenticate Orthodoxy. As it is that they never supported the Old Calendarist or true Churches Russian and yes they supported the modernists, sergianist etc, those of EP, MP, OCA etc and they never broke the communion to them.

Another Holy Father, Saint Justin of Celije, told that the new calendar was incorrect but did not deserve a schism... Morevoer in the 1930s, there were concelebration between ROCOR and the new calendarist church of Romania in Romania using the new calendar...

The Serbian church never supportes the True Russian church!!! And tell me where the ROCOR located from 1920 to 1941? Wasn't it in Karlov (Serbia)?

A question : you say the true Russian churches using a plural... But there can be only a True Russian church or a True greek church... Could you tell me which since old calendarists have 13 Synods?
