Chrysostomos

I believe that I've left a schismatic--if not heretical--group and joined an Orthodox one. Is there a better or more precious fruit that one could give? All because of discussions such as go on here.

Paradosis,

You said: "I believe that I've left a schismatic--if not heretical--group and joined an Orthodox one. Is there a better or more precious fruit that one could give? All because of discussions such as go on here."

My initial response is yes: St. Paul's words to the Corinthians 1 Cor 2:2
"For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. (NKJV)"

Now that I think of it, continue reading through verse 5. That about really sums it all up.

I'm am sincerely happy and thankful that you have left a schismatic, if not heretical and joined an Orthodox one. It is evident that it has changed your life and perceptions. My sincere prayer is that God will lead you on a level path and that you will not fall into prelest or pride.

That's my prayer for myself as well, least you think I am accusing you of something.

With humble bow,

The unprofitable "doulos" Reader Chrysostomos

Chrysostomos,

I apologize for turning what had been an edifying thread into yet another bad experience for you. I pray that, in my zeal, I have not offended you.

Saint Silouan the Athonite

Has the ROCOR (or any other traditionalist Church) glorified Saint Silouan the Athonite?

Wasn't St. Silouan in communion with godless "world orthodoxy"(i.e. new calendarists?!)
