Do you really think that this will get him out of office? Do they even have the authority to dump their own Patriarch becuase they disagree with him, and if so where does that leave the Orthodox Church? What is the purpose of having a Patriarch to lead and give direction if he can be "fired" just because we don't agree with him, especially on a matter that has no Theological implications. I mean to be truthful what does it matter whose hands this land is in? If in the hands of the Jewish populace or in the hands of the Muslim populace? Personally I would be more happy with the land in the hands of Jews, especially considering the growing Islamic fundamentalism. Just look at all of the problems the Catholics are having in Sudan. It is not inconcievable that those same things will happen to Orthodox Christians in the near future in Muslim nations.

I know a man who is Greek Orthodox and grew up in Ramallah. He served in a Palestinian Freedom student group and was caught by the IDF. They locked him in small closet about 4ft tall and 2ft wide for 18 days not letting him out for more than five minutes each day. If you honestly believe that the Palestinians have no reason to be concerned that such Fascist Zionist criminals are continually taking land from both Greek Orthodox and Muslims who want nothing more but to receive recompense for land illegally taken from them than you are living in fantasy land. I think Irineos may indeed not be guilty and that all of this is Arab propaganda could be true but still it is a big deal when Zionists continue to try to take all of Jerusalem for themselves.
The Zionists are truelly cowards and an evil force that have been the primary reason for the majority of Greek Orthodox Palestinians leaving Palestine how can you say they should have the land? they are cowards and murderers! I have met a young man from Bethlehem who is also Greek Orthodox and he told me that the Israelis harass Palestinians at every occasion possible and make no difference between women and children. Once when his great aunt was trying to visit America the Israelis purposely made it next to impossible for her to take the trip with her relatives in Ramallah at the same time because they said since she is from Bethlehem she has to get a 'special permit' different from the ones they issue to people in Ramallah! Of course it was eventually discovered to be balogna but the Israelis had a good laugh. If you could only understand what is going on you would see why so many Palestinians are frustrated and that the best way to get rid of Islamic Fundamentalism is combatting such unfair conditions that make people sympathetic to it.
