Angel: ... And so the soul being oppressed here by the cross and sorrow shall be kept safe in the eternal dwellings. Deceived, truly deceived, are they who think that unscathed and unaffected by grief they shall cross over from this world into Heaven. ...

Our refreshment comes with the peace that God gives us here even though we are in great sorrow and affliction, but our greatest portion will be in the Heavenlys. And we grow impatiant in our afflictions and want more rewards now than God has given us at this time.

In my reading of this book so far, I have looked at all the things that I have done for God and the rewards that I have not recieved yet for all these things. Instead of being discouraged, as I might have been in the past, I am incouraged, God is not slack on His promises. Therefore if I have not recieved His promises of rewards now then I will get them later. So if I am going to get them in this life, God will have to hurry? I am 51, that leaves only about 29 years, plenty of time I guess, but I would rather not see the rewards now but after my sojourn here is done.
