Jim:

I don't always agree with OOD,especially when he goes so admantly against my church, ... in your case it might be better to judge for yourself where you are destined to be.

Yes the world is in turmaoil.... and our churches are also in turmoil.... It's something most of us have to deal with in one way or another. It is my belief that God will guide those who ask with freverent prayer. In the end it is you who must decide where your soul gains the most, be it in GOA or in ROCOR or any place else.

Forgive me if I have misunderstood but Ekaterina's response sounds very Protestant. We must be guided, not by our own theology or desires but by the teachings of the Church, Fathers, Councils, Scripture, etc, all of which teach us to flee from heresy and have no communion with it . This precludes any communion with churches that have fallen to the WCC, NCC, Ecumenism, Rome, Monophysites, etc. And it appears that ROCOR is headed there.

All I am trying to say is that with prayer and investigation for himself Jim needs to make this determination for himself.

Forgive me but "appears to be" is not definitive enough for me....

Lot's of things "appear to be" that ultimately aren't....

Since our choices will be judged in the end.... choices need to be made by each person, based on their own decision and not influenced by others with comments such as "appears to be".

I'm sorry if I offend but this kind of commentary is not right.

And why do you think that you can determine when a Church is in Heresy?

Who is to make this determination? Do you feel an individual should make this decision?

If ROCOR does re-enter communion with the MP, do you feel that you know better than the Church that you have followed through all other decisions?

Why do you feel that you know better than your Church?

Do you feel that you are better qualified to interpret the Canons?

YOUR advice sounds very Protestant to me.

You should FOLLOW YOUR BISHOP!

Code: Select all

If ROCOR does re-enter communion with the MP, do you feel that you know better than the Church that you have followed through all other decisions?

I believe that the Time of Great Lent is not a good time to speak of these questions but:
"ROCOR re-enter"- I lowly believe that it is not a good conception of the events, because ROCOR has never been in communion with the Sergianist MP. Formerly ROCOR knew that this patriarcado is false and created by Stalin, this it is the same Patriarchate of our days, that is to say the true one "Church Mother" is the Church of the Catacomb and not the MP for that reason ROCOR is not re-union (re-enter) but an union with a strange body to the Church (The MP, the False Russian Church) And according to the Holy Father, those who enter in communion with heretics are worthwhile same excommunication.

Excuse me for my no good English.

With Love in Christ

How is my evaluation wrong?

If you select YOUR opinion over that of the Church - you are acting like a Protestant. Why do you refuse to accept that truth?
