Here is something that I find interesting. I had never thought that ALL Christians had to bear thier cross, I thought it was only those that wanted to be Jesus disiples. But this is a carry over from my protestant past. Now I realize that in order for us to be all that we can be in Christ we need to be tried inorder to be purified.

I have been asked several times why God tests us, if He knows everything. I have told them that the tests are so that we can know who we are. This puts the light on God showing those around what we are made of.

Stavrophila: But what need does God have to test people, if he knowa everyone's virtue, withour sending them any grief?

Angel: God does not test people because He somehow does not know them before. The reason for sinding sorrow to the righteous is to show others their patience.
