Honor, praise, ect. keep us from taking up the Cross, The resons may not be stated as in this chapter, but it is what happens. How easy it is to be turned from the way of the Cross to vain glory! One moment we wish only the Cross and the next we deny the Cross to save face. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner!
