Ok, Justin

- One convent and one nun in Santiago, Chile

  • Two parishes and a priest in Santiago, Chile
  • One parish and one priest in Caracas, Venezuela
  • One deacon in Brazil

Now, They are ROCiE, before they were ROCOR.

But, the only correction that I would make is that in Chile there are three nuns and not only one. Igumena Iuliana is the abbess of the convent.

With Love in Christ

The Antiochians do have one monastery in Missouri (I think) and the Serbs have a number of monasteries. I think a couple in California, one in Arizona, one in Indiana, one in Ohio and possibly a few others (they have some empty monastery complexes without monastics at the present time; I do not know the status of all these). My dearest friend is an Orthodox nun at the Serbian monastery in Ohio.

Lizabeth,

Greetings. Thank you for the corrections. The one post is over a year and a half old now, but it's certainly possible that it was wrong even then; and either way, it's always good to get things straight. :)

Not ROCOR stats, but interesting...

"Statistics released by the Moscow Patriarchate show that there are 277 million Orthodox worldwide. Of this number, 160 million are under the amophore of the Moscow Patriarch, which has 277 institutions based in 42 countries. Outside of Russia, it has 263 priests with 10 bishops in eight dioceses and 16 monasteries." - The Orthodox Herald, Volume 53, No. 10 -- Issue 633 (Feb. 2005)

Justin,

I regret to say that the ROCOR mission to Northern Ireland closed at the end of September last year. The parish of St Colman's in the Republic of Ireland is thankfully still functioning.
