He set a example, being with very much grace of the Holy Spirit within the Masonic or Ecumenist or Uncanonical Churches. It doesn't matter wether you use old or new calendar; according to Saint Nicholas, it's how you celebrate it. Now this is simply my impression I got from reading his life written by his disciple Nun Martha in greek. Here is a site from the Traditionalist Church about Saint Nicholas of Athens (Planas).

I don't think the Greek Church, adorned with so many saints and elders, is "masonic" or "ecumenist" or "uncanonical". This is blasphemy!!! ROCOR recognizes the Patriarchates of Jerusalem and Serbia. And those Churches recognize the Archdiocese of Greece!

I remember reading in the book Papa Nicholas Planas that Papa Nicholas never served another Liturgy for the State Church after the calendar innovation. He was very aged at the time, and he was simply present for them, but secretly held Old Calendar Liturgies at night. This was during the nebulous period where the Old Calendar movement had priests and laity, but no bishops. Half the population of Greece was Old Calendarist at this time, which was why two bishops left the State Church.

Tell a Old Calendarist about the Newly revealed Elders and Holy Fathers, and they will say they were demons. (Ex.: Along Saint Nicholas is the to-be Glorified Saint Philotheus Zervakos (the spiritual Father of Metropolitan Cyprian!)).

That some can find it within themselves to condemn the deeply pious and ascetic Nicholas Planas I find deeply sad. Still I remember with some gratitude the advice given me long ago, to avoid the would-be perfect ones; for their folly speak volumes..........

Adherence to the Church calendar and Sacred Tradition is one thing but to set one self up in God's place another, surely?

I have the experience of the priests here in my province belonging to the Synod of Archbishop Chrysostom Kioussis of the Genuine Orthodox who claim them to be demons.

No doubt our priests do not consider this man a saint - he is as much a saint as Francis of Assisi. But please, which of our priests (you imply more than one) in "your province" say this man is actually a demon appearing as a human? And when and where was this said?

Now maybe it is true that our priests said Planas was demon-possesed, this I would believe, as several of his followers ended up in a Greek mental insitution, and many people believe he was very strange (not just Traditionalists). Indeed, there are a great many storys circulating about him. Of course you may not be aware of this if you are simply reading the piles of propaganda put out by ecumenists who are desperate to have a "saint". I mean really, if they promote the likes of Athenagoras of sorry memory to be a saint, I suppose a man like Planas is almost god-like. Perhaps this is what you are referring to, no?

Now St. Philaret, there's a true saint. I wonder why the ecumenists are not promoting him?
