The situation with the union between ROCA and the MP is child's play compared to the near disaster during St. Mark of Ephesus' time. All the hierarchs wanted to go with the pope of Rome! Can you imagine the discussions amongst the laity at that time?? How confusing was that?

St Mark stood up for the truth. We must believe that the truth will prevail and that there will always be someone who will stand out and speak up for what is right and true by God; he is God's servant. I just wonder who that will be.

There must be a hierarch out there that is meant to guide us in the truth. But, who is he?

It's so confusing when we are in the midst of it, as compared to when we are just reading the history of it.

WHO IS OLEG MOLENKO?

Post by Giorgos »

Dear Brothers in Christ,
I too have read the astonishing “article” of “Alexander Miloradovitch” posted for the Fr. Deacon Nicholas.
Excuse me for this, but if someone search the original of this post, this is in the Website of “father” “Oleg Molenko” apparently a self ordained individual, living in Toronto, parish priest of a church whose “First Hierarch” is the Apostle St. John the Teologian. This man claim to have celestial revelations, messages and so on. And his followers are ills of guruism.
See www.omolenko.com
Even in the bloodiest of the wars there are some rules.
As ever, not all is white as snow in the Rocor, but there are some limits for the schismatic and internecine religious war that someone had envisaged.
A christian orthodox that have some common decence, must be cautious.
We all must be more sober.
Again, excuse me for my “english”.
With Love in Christ,
Giorgos

just checked out that link...
Any priest who runs a website with "Testimonials" like this "Testimonies to the graceful ministry of Fr. Oleg Molenko...If you desire to share with other people about how Fr. Oleg’s sermons have changed your spiritual life, how his word has lead you to the Orthodoxy, how his prayers brought about healing, send your testimonies to admin@omolenko.com" makes me a bit skeptical.

Thank you, Giorgios, for pointing this out (in great English!).
If anyone wishes to take even a cursory look at the site of this "Father Oleg" you will see that he does not recognize any church as Orthodox, including ROCiE and ROAC, and that he also seriously calls into question the podvig of Patriarch Tikhon, Metropolitan Peter, etc.

Here in Toronto, this pseudo-starets Oleg has succeeded in seducing quite a number of newcomers to his self-styled church. Do we wish to promote his ravings on an Orthodox list? So, I would agree with Giorgios, and would add that if one wants to stir up conversation one could do better than to use sectarian sources.

Only a bit sceptical?! Did you also notice the detailed information that allows the gullible to deposit money into their bank accounts?!

Sorry, I keep forgetting that most people don't realize that my particular form of sarcasm comes from understating. ;-) Common problem.

By the way, I was just curious if anyone knows who these guys are...

Ania,
I've come across this Fr. Oleg Molenko's site before, and I have NO IDEA who he is, but it's really weird seeing all these sort of "personal" family photos of a priest. There a like, a million photos of this guy! It seems strange to have a priest post this many pictures of himself online...

Looking back, it seems he is an odd duck. Incidentally, I found it when searching for "ROCOR Cafe", seeing what comes up since we dropped that old domain name (Which is also causing the slower traffic of the last 2 months).
