I just wanted to drop in and ask for your prayers for my wife, Mary Cecilia, who is now 8 1/2 weeks pregnant. As I said in a previous thread (when she was pregnant before), there are added risks because of her heart condition. We had the first ultra-sound today and everything checks out ok so far. We also talked to a cardiologist who sort of specializes in unique situations like this and we talked about the risks and potential problems. Almost all possible chances of there being a problem are greater, but not so great that we need to assume that it's more likely than not (e.g., there's a 13% greater chance of a miscarriage as compared to a "normal" pregnancy, a 5% great chance that the baby will have a heart condition, etc.). Thankfully Mary now has a good health insurance policy, so hopefully everything will go much more smoothly this time around.
