Not only do they carry a cross, they can really wack you with it too. Now an Orthodox hegumen I know does much the same thing when blessing the faithfull with holy water. Only a power shower gives a greater drenching.

At least in both cases there is nothing 'wishy washy'* or effete.

As to the United Nations, this organisation which is so often the hope of many sadly appears all too often to be hopelessly corrupt and ineffective. It's religious agenda appears to be in deep conflict with the beliefs and teachings of Christianity, very New Age.

My mother always complains that nowadays, the Orthodox priests seem to be conserving their incense...she likes that old fashioned foggy effect I guess
