Well, let me put it this way, I'll need to see much more to be convinced. People said that the U.N., and even social security cards, was going to bring about the end of our freedoms. Maybe it will happen yet. But not yet.
Let me give you an example of why I am for it, of why from my perspective the benefits outweigh the possible bad stuff. My wife has a condition called syncope (though the doctor's aren't really positive). She could faint at any time: there's no rhyme or reason to it. She could very well faint someday and hit her head, and maybe I wouldn't be around. Maybe she'd be at a monastery somewhere and I'd be at home. Maybe we'd be on vacation. Whatever the case may be, the point is that she might be somewhere and they would have no clue about her medical history (which is quite extensive, having had multiple heart conditions since she was a baby, two artificial valves, etc.). Now, if you are going to tell me that someone could put a chip inside of her with all of the minute details of her medical history on it... well that could save her life some day. Probably not, but it could. The same thing goes with people like the elderly, or many others, who might live alone or far away from family or friends that visit. There's even the possibility in the future of a chip sending out an alert in case there is a health danger (e.g., a heart attack). Instead of a person pushing a button (they might not even be able to do that), the chip could automatically transmit the signal that something is wrong.

PS. I've apparently lost my debit card this week. So maybe I have other advantages in mind as well, lol. "Microchips: never leave home without it!"
