I agree with Justin's post. And that cowboy has my vote, too.

Just to mention-PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE ME ON THAT WEBSITE.
I posted it, but didn't write it. I am voting for Bush though.
I agree with Justin and Nicholas said.

Just so I can throw everyone in a talespin yet again:

I am not going to post anything else related to politics or social issues here at Euphrosynos. These topics, for me personally, really inflame the passions and that is exactly what I am trying to subdue in my pursuit of Orthodoxy.

My political opinions are as dead as the dust and I'd rather live in Christ.

Please forgive my offenses.

we have compulsory voting.

We render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's.

Then why have "orthodox Christians for bush" given the Cross and the Icon of the Pantocrator to the Bush campaign on their website?

George of Australia--

You have compulsory voting???? What happens if you don't vote--do the police come and drag you to the polling booth? Do they watch to make sure you make your "X"?

If you object to the Serbs for Bush using the cross and Pantocrator on their website--if it is not sufficiently separating the things of Caesar from the things of God--why don't you just e-mail them and say so?

Are you and Ephream objecting to their banner on their website because it's not in favor of Kerry? That's how both of you come across on this issue as you slam them.

It doesn't especially surprise me that they would use these Christian symbols on their website as their whole culture is Slavic-Byzantine. The Catholic Knights of Columbus do the same thing and no one gets bent out of shape over it. But to call them The BEAST or Anti-Christ is silly.

Dear Brothers in Christ:

I have read your posts for about a year now, enjoying the commentary, and would like to offer this observation in the hope that it will enforce what we all kown is our Orthodox understanding.

The elected officials of this nation are neither spokesmen for nor champions of our faith. Nor should we encourage them to be. "Put not your trust in princes, in the sons of men, in whom there is no salvation."

Moreover, do not confuse America with or call it a "Christian Nation." We live in the devil's world. During our Lord and Savior's forty days in the wilderness, Satan showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time [past, present, future]. "And the devil said to Him, 'All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.'" Lk. 4:5-6. As St. John the Apostle reminds us, "We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one." Our nation belongs to the devil. It is not Christian. No electoral vote will change that fact. Neither Bush nor Kerry can change that fact.

I look forward to a long enjoyable relationship with this group, having learned much from preivious posts.

In IC XC,
