do you feel big and strong now that you have a gun?

Do I feel big and strong? I know I am big and strong. Not because of my weapons, but because I am a United States Marine, and U.S. Marines are big and strong.

See big and strong U.S. Marines. With big weapons.

May I remind my young friends that St. Basil taught,"They who shed blood in war should abstain from communion for 3 years" P.G.XXXII, 681.

I asked my priest about that alot before I went to recruit training, he said that is not actually the case when it comes to the military.

I asked him about that and he said it didnt apply to that specific situation.

Nektarios,

First of all I have met scrawny Marines.

Second of all, it doesn't matter how big and tough you are, if a bullet goes through your brain you will be dead all the same.

I can see that instead of teaching you humility, boot camp has simply increased your arrogance.

Yeah but you are a Christian so it should have made you realize your unworthiness. God meets us in all of our experiences and tries to transform us. Marines are always touted as civilized, honorable people and all I ever see in your posts is anger, arrogance, and a desire to display your raw power. In front of Christ though none of us are nothing.

If I remember the story correctly, so was Goliath.
