I've found (including in myself) that an over-bearing, judgmental, and emotional approach often betrays deeper problems. The person is soft, so they subconsciously over-compensate by being overly aggressive or bold or judgmental or emotional, all while claiming to be manly, rugged, in control, etc., and denouncing softness, femininity, etc. Nietzsche is a perfect example of this. I think we have the same thing here in this thread.

St. Paul said, "The effeminate will not enter into the kingdom of heaven".

I look around in the pews of the Orthodox church I attend. All the boys exhibit a cowed look. They're effeminate. Plain and simple.

To obey takes a hardness. An effeminate can not obey. It's tooooo hard. When boys escape military service and hide in college, that's effeminacy. When boys listen to too much music, that is effeminacy. Can the Orthodox church train boys to men or is it incompetent and so trains boys to effeminacy?

So Thomas Jefferson is a protestant 'Father of the church' is he?

Wheeler,

You remind of some people I used to "hang with," theologically speaking. They made the same kind of arguments. I'm sure that if St. King David were here they'd rebuke him to his face for all that crying stuff in the Psalms. I wonder if, after having observed him (or St. Symeon the New Theologian, or countless other saints) for a time, you would label them effiminate. Your ideas about what is effiminate seems to be very different from that of the Fathers. Or Jesus. "If someone slaps your right cheek turn to him the other," "if someone makes you walk a mile then walk two," "if somoene asks for your coat then give him your shirt too": what ideas!

I also feel that I should state, because I have no wish to hide anything or "go behind people's back" or whatever, that I've sent a request to Nicholas that you be banned, Wheeler. I think it's odd that I should feel that I have to do that, when not more than a couple months ago I was asking that Jerjis and others be unbanned and was lobbying for their cause (even as they attacked me on another list, saying that I should be sued for slander, and was the one who had them banned here!) I have not seen one iota of edifying, or even informative, content come from your posts. I believe you are capable of destroying this forum by running off those who still enjoy posting here, me included.

Certainly our spelling is complicated. Ugly is in the ear of the listener.

Greek is a highly technical language much like German. English being a terrible language to connote philosophical meaning is widely held. I don't have to apologize. It is the truth.

I know it's widely held to be the truth; that doesn't make it the truth. And I repeat, if English is inadequate to the task, write in another language. But usually it's not the English language, but the writer's command of it, that is lacking.

I just realized that you're that nutcase from the Scouter forum. Very sorry to have attempted discussion with you.
