Thank you Justin for your post... I for one am not scandalized. Rather I find that I learn much from such discussions. I have been questioning some of our ancient writings myself lately. Your post helps me understand why I have been questioning.

We live in confusing times. Schools taught us to question everything, only to turn around and be told by the church not to question anything....very confusing to my mind of thinking...

Keep posting, keep questioning, keep challenging US.

Justin,

I apologizes for my sharp reaction. But, if we start questioning everything...doesn't that make us paranoid?

Shouldn't we question our questioning?

If you have definite back up, then send it to my email.

But, you have to be careful about what you state. Are we to question the Apostles now? And the Seven Ecumencial Councils? And the miracles?

It just feels like the devil is playing with our minds....am I alone on this thought? Then lock me up and throw away the key.

In Christ,

Joanna

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Ps. 50)

Joasia:

You are not crazy.... and you are very fortunate to be blessed with the faith of a child... not all of us are so blessed.

We struggle with our faith, struggle through our studies and frequently that means questioning everything. Not every thing can be black and white, why else did God create grey? It is the working through the grey shadows that man tends to do his questioning... and sometimes through his questioning he finds the answers necessary to affirm his faith.

I think however that there are enough Clergy lurking here that if we were completely off the mark or expounding on something that the church does not teach, then I would hope that they would step up and correct us, privately or otherwise.

So don't give up hope on us.
