New to the list

Hello to all my Orthodox brothers and sisters. I'm a recent convert to Holy Orthodoxy, and am now in the ROCOR jurisdiction (thanks be to God).

I was hoping someone would be able to help me with knowing who exactly ROCOR was in communion with. I know the Serbian and Jerusalem Patriarchates both support and commune with ROCOR, but what about the True Orthodox Churches?

The reason I ask is because I really admire those groups and I've heard that ROCOR helped them with episcopal ordinations.

If someone could clear that up for me, that'd be great.

Isaac, welcome to the Cafe. The JP and Serbian union are different depending on what bishop priest you speak to on either side, as for any other Church, there is a communion with the Cyprian Synod of Resistors, which caused ROCOR's union with the other GOCs to fall apart and helped influence the FROC/ROAC ro break communion with ROCOR. Again, welcome aboard!

Oh, how I do wish the resisting Church were more unified, but that's ok I suppose. The GOC of Cyprus, eh? I'll have to check them out too.

I know Fr. Seraphim Rose commended all of the GOCs and so that is what I will do... at least on certain points.

I SUGGEST YOU, THAT YOU MUST QUESTION YOUR PARISH PRIEST ABOUT WHOM THE ROCOR ARE IN COMMUNION, NOT AT THE MEMBERS OF FORUM THAT ARE NOT ALL MEMBERS OF YOUR LOCAL CHURCH, AND PERHAPS NOT KNOW THIS.
