According to my knowledge, unforgivable sins are (to my brain, forgive me if I scandalize anyone for saying this): -the dreadful sinful of Transexuality. (As you all most probably know, there are sickos that change their God-given body parts permanently) which is something unforgivable. Like Suicide.

Not scandalized so much as bewildered. Why on earth would that be unforgiveable?

Dear Romiosini,
I would also ask the same question as Patrick, and would add that we cannot even say that suicide, or any act is "unforgivable". Of course the Church cannot help suicides with her prayers, but this is not because they cannot be forgiven. Surely we cannot say that a mentally disordered person who, in a state of psychosis, kills themselves "cannot be forgiven"? Similarly, with transexuals, if they repent the rest of their lives, surely this is the same as someone who has mutilated themselves who repents. You said it yourself- they are sick; just as all sin is sickness. There was a desert father who had a disciple who was tormented by the demon of unchastity who castrated himself then repented. He was given a severe canon, and was returned to the synodia. Where are these new and strange doctrines of unforgivable sins coming from? Our Lord says in the Gospel that all sins can be forgiven except blashphemy of the Holy Spirit. And of course this is unforgivable since it is the refusal to accept God's mercy and forgiveness- attributing the saving work of the Holy Spirit to satan. The unforgivable sin of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is a hardness of heart.

Wait let me ask a question..(Mentally illnesses are not classified as unforgivable, of course it's a set of deseases), I.e. A man who became a trans... and literally changed his whole body (removal of testicules.. and the towards to the more disturbing stuff..) and becomes a woman. How can he (well, now pretending that he is a she) repent after all that? If he/she wanted to do all this, it would be endless fornication, (of course, I don't he would just change his sexe for the fun of it.) And let's pretend he/she suddenly learns of the Orthodox Church, and wants to be baptised. What would he/she tell his priest? I used to be a guy? I used to be a woman?

He could repent, but a eunuch cannot become a priest, this much is true.

Do you really suppose that transsexuals, any more than anybody else, are bound to a life of "endless fornication"?

Probably something like that.

Indeed, a transsexual does disfigure their God-given body, and may commit horrible sins. But consider: almost all of us, to some extent, disfigure our God-given soul. If God can forgive me after the vile sins I have committed, which have dirtied my soul, I believe that he can forgive the dirtying of a body as well. The body of the transsexual may have been changed for the worse, but most of our souls have been damaged in a much more horrible way. And we (and sometimes our spouses) must live with the consequences of that damage done to our souls. Transexuality is a psychological issue; so are most other sexual sins that scar us (supposedly) "normal" heterosexuals. In the end, the only difference is that the former leaves a more noticable phsyical change.

Fr Deacon Nikolai,
Are you certain of this? http://www.ccel.org/fathers2/NPNF2-14/N ... 72_2117597

Code: Select all

  Canon XXI.

An eunuch, if he has been made so by the violence of men or [if his virilia have been amputated] in times of persecution, or if he has been born so, if in other respects he is worthy, may be made a bishop.

I know this relates to a bishop and not self-inflicted, but...or am I just too broadly reading your post and out of context?

Wait... what is an eunuch? (Is it a person who removes his/her genital organs and makes him into the opposite gender?) I'm guessing in greek it's ευνούχος, right? Hm.. so what you are telling me? (I.e. Let's pretend I was one right? I would say I was born man and died a woman?) That wouldn't be normal. Now but if I understand the modern (Traditional and Ecumenists) I dont think they would him/her into the Church. I wonder what would the priests on this forum would think. This issue needs strong research. Because Transexuality is Sodomy at it's peak no? Wanting to change your sexe was not giving to us from GOD but simply the temptation of the Devil. But how would this person be baptised? It won't only scandalize the Church but the people too! (Think! A woman, i.e. a literate whore, who desired to become a man, (and let's say she's gotten the attachments also...) and later on becomes Orthodox and becomes a BISHOP!) GOOD LORD, I wonder, how can anyone really repent from it spiritually and physicily? (I don't think when you remove your attachements (as a man) is possible to have them back...)

(Sorry but this is a little wierd, I hope I haven't affended anyone of you.) (Of course Father Nicholas, at my age, it's good to ask questions.)
